Police officials in Newark reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in the city's Central ward Saturday evening.
Gunfire erupted in the area of 1st and New streets just before 5:20 p.m., sending cops to the scene to investigate.
Officers taped the area off after locating several shell casings, but no gunshot victims were found after canvassing the scene.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
