Newark South Ward police officers rushed an injured baby boy to Beth Israel Hospital after a serious crash in that section of the city Saturday evening.
The collision happened around 6:17 p.m. at the intersection of Bergen Street and Lyons Avenue.
Police, EMS and Fire arrived at the scene and found the crash with three trapped occupants inside the severely damaged vehicle.
The baby's condition was only reported as serious while police taped the area off and investigated the crash.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
