Authorities Seek the Public’s Help Identifying Newark Theft Suspects

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying the suspects and vehicle in connection with a theft that occurred on Monday, March 11, 2024.AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said a commercial truck driver reported that several boxes were stolen from his truck that was parked inside a lot at Herbert Street and Avenue L.

Officials stated it occured between the hours of 4:30 p.m. on March 11, 2024, and 5:30 a.m. on March 12.

A second victim also reported that two of his trailers were broken into, and several boxes were also stolen, officials say. 

Officials said detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help to quickly identify the suspects.

Authorities say video surveillance footage shows them entering the lot at 10:15 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, and removing the boxes containing clothing.

According to officials, the footage shows two male suspects, a third suspect in the distance, and the suspect vehicle.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of either of these suspects or their pictured vehicle to call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877- 695-8477).
