Authorities Seek Public’s Assistance in Dover Arson Investigation

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Town of Dover Police Department Director Dominick Saldida are seeking the public’s assistance with regard to an arson investigation in Dover.

On Monday (Feb. 8), members of the Town of Dover Police Department, Dover Fire Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Arson/Environmental Crimes Unit, Morris County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) and Morris County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Unit (K9) were dispatched to 136 Prospect Street, Dover on a report of a multi-dwelling structure fire.

The fire was extinguished without injury to any occupants or first responders. The fire caused extensive damage to the residence. The fire originated on the exterior of the structure. The cause of the fire was determined to be an act of arson.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Town of Dover Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are seeking information from any member of the public concerning this fire.
