Authorities Search for Suspect Responsible for 2013 Murder of Newark Airport Employee

Newark – Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Newark Liberty International Airport employee Bruce Santos, 26, of Newark.

According to authorities, during the evening hours of Feb. 27, 2013 Santos was shot in downtown Newark in a possible attempted robbery while waiting at the bus stop at Broad and Camp streets.

EMS rushed Santos to University Hospital where he later died authorities said.

Detectives with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office believe Santos was a victim of a robbery.

Shortly after the homicide, the Essex County Prosecutor's Offcice released a sketch of a suspect who they described as a male with dreadlocks and in his 20s.
