Authorities Search for Suspect Following Fatal Carteret Stabbing

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief John Pieczyski of the Carteret Police Department said authorities are searching for one or more individuals who were involved in the fatal stabbing of a borough man.

Nelson Delgado, 18, was pronounced dead at 3:08 a.m. today at University Hospital in Newark, where he was taken after he was stabbed on Pershing Avenue in the borough.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 2:06 a.m. today and found the victim at the Pulaski Avenue intersection.

An investigation by Detective Thomas O’Connor of the Carteret Police Department and Detective Joseph Chesseri of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is active and is continuing.
