Authorities Need Help Identifying Suspect Following Gas Station Robbery in Newark

Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with a gas station robbery that occurred early this morning.

According to authorities, at approximately 1:15 a.m., a man inside the mini-mart of the Exxon Gas Station, located at 1437 McCarter Highway, took merchandise from the shelf before demanding cash from an employee. The suspect fled onto McCarter Highway heading southbound on foot.

Police described the suspect as 6’5” tall, approximately 200 lbs., in his late 30’s, last seen wearing glasses, a gray ski cap and a green jacket.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from the streets.

This investigation is continuing.
