The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has issued a warrant for Jose Ronald Santos-Alvarez, 26, accused of killing a Jersey City woman and her son, officials announced tonight.
Police responded to a Lincoln Street home around 5:30 p.m., where a mother, Monika M. Potoczniak, 27, and her son, Christopher R. Potoczniak, 4, were found unconscious.
Both were transported CarePoint Health-Christ Hospital where they were pronounced dead shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Results from the Medical Examiner determined that Monika was strangled and Christopher had been suffocated.
On Saturday, an arrest warrant was issued for Santos-Alvarez.
