Authorities Investigating Antisemitic Graffiti Found at Essex County High School

Authorities in Essex County are investigating after antisemitic graffiti was discovered inside a bathroom at Columbia High School in Maplewood.

 

School officials said the graffiti was found on November 12 and included a racial slur written near a triangle containing a small swastika. Columbia High School is part of the South Orange–Maplewood School District.

 

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the Maplewood Police Department was notified approximately six days after the graffiti was discovered.

The prosecutor’s office received a copy of the police report on Wednesday but declined to provide additional details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

 

As of publication, district officials have not made a comment on the matter. 

 

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not released information about potential suspects or disciplinary actions.
