There is an active investigation underway after a female was found dead behind an unoccupied house in the city.
Police responded to reports of suspicious activities in the 100 block of South 11th Street 5:15 p.m. where officers arrived and located the victim.
According to Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, the Essex County Prosecutors are on the scene engaged in investigating the suspicious death.
The investigation is active and ongoing and no other information has been released at this time.
The identity of the victim is unknown.
