The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office are investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in Jersey City, officials said.

According to preliminary information, the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Bergen Avenue and Ege Avenue.
Details surrounding what led to the shooting have not yet been released, but the encounter reportedly involved a male suspect.
Following the gunfire, a large police presence flooded the area, and portions of the neighborhood were sealed off for the investigation.
The suspect was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where his condition was described as life-threatening/severe.
Both the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office are leading the investigation.
