A late night crash on I-287 in Montville has authorities investigating a fatality.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes near mile marker 48.5 sending emergency responders and rescue crews to the scene.
Upon there arrival, crews noticed a tractor trailer with a severely damaged car pinned underneath.
At least one person was pulled from the vehicle and later pronounced dead according to reports.
Police closed the highway through the night and into the early morning hours for the crash investigation.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
