Authorities in Essex County reported that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, along with Newark detectives, is investigating the fatal shooting of Khalif Mr. Ligon, 29, of Newark.
Police said on Wednesday, September 7, at 1:49 a.m.,police were notified of an alleged shooting on the 100 block of Roseville Avenue, Newark.
Police found Ligon suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police said he was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
