Authorities Identify Man Killed in Elizabeth House Explosion

Police have identified the 24-year-old man killed yesterday after an Elizabeth home exploded.

Femi Brown, who lived on the second floor of the Magnolia Avenue home where the explosion originated.

Crews rescued a total of 16 residents, two of which remain in critical condition, according to officials.

They were transported by helicopter to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

The other 13 injured residents were treated at area hospitals.

The cause of the incident is still being investigation. It has not been confirmed by officials if in fact the explosion was a result of a natural gas leak.

According to fire officials, the adjacent homes will also be torn down since their foundations were compromised.

A total of 30 people were displaced by the explosion.
