Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief John Zebrowski of the Sayreville Police Department announced today that a 47-year old man from Colombia has been identified as the person who was killed in the fatal collision in Sayreville.
Authorities said Carlos Leiva, 47, of Colombia was identified as the deceased driver of the Hyundai SUV struck by a Dodge Ram pickup on April 25th at 2:23 pm in Sayreville.
Officials said Leiva was visiting from Colombia and with family members at the time of the crash. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The investigation is active and is continuing.
