Authorities Arrest Trenton Man for Murder

Trenton

A 30-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning and charged with September shooting death of Jibri Chisolm, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.

Officials say Mr. Stephan P. Green, of Bond Street, Trenton, is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree criminal possession of a gun and certain second-degree persons not to possess a handgun.

The charges are a result of an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force (MCHTF).

Warrants were issued on September 22 and Green was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at a hotel in South Brunswick by the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the MCHTF.

Police say just before midnight on September 14, Trenton police were dispatched to a ShotSpotter activation in the 600 block of MLK Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located two shooting victims at 15-19 Bond Street. Both adult male victims were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

According to police, the first victim, identified as 26-year-old Chisolm, was pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy confirmed Chisolm was shot in the head and abdomen. The second victim, a 26-year-old Trenton man, was treated for a non-life threatening bullet graze to his right hip.

Police say despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
