Authorities are investigating a fatal ATV crash that occurred Saturday evening in Washington Township, Warren County.
According to preliminary emergency dispatch information, crews were called to the Morris Canal Trail shortly before 7:30 p.m. after reports that an ATV had gone into a pond, leaving a person unconscious.
First responders arriving at the scene began CPR as a medical helicopter was requested. A landing zone was initially established at Port Colden School.
Despite emergency lifesaving efforts, command personnel later reported that the victim had died. The medical helicopter was subsequently canceled.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or additional details surrounding what caused the ATV to enter the pond.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
