West Essex County authorities are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred at a bank in West Caldwell this evening.
Police were called to the Lakeland Bank located at 995 Bloomfield Avenue for reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival at the scene, employees informed offciers that a black male suspect reportedly entered the bank and passed a note to one of the tellers before he ran from the establishment.
The suspect is 6ft tall and weighs about 180lbs and believed to be in his mid-to-early 20'saccording to police.
Police say the suspect wore a red hat, Burgundy shirt, and jeans when he ran from the bank.
There were no injuries reported or weapons shown according to reports.
