Police are investigating a report of an attempted carjacking in Newark that left a 71-year-old woman suffering injuries.
The unidentified victim told police that after parking her car on the 100 block of South 13th Street, she was approached by two men who allegedly tried to steal her vehicle.
After the victim refused to give her keys to the suspects, they reportedly began to beat her before fleeing the scene.
The woman was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to reports, the victim's car was later recovered on South 12th Street.
The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
