Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Seeks Assistance in Identifying Unknown Woman

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit is currently seeking the assistance of relatives and friends of James “Crab Daddy” Whiting, Jr. (1916 - 2011).AdOfficials said Mr. Whiting was an Atlantic County resident who lived and worked in the Atlantic City/Pleasantville areas.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is currently working to identify the human remains of a woman that were recovered in Mullica Township, New Jersey, in July of 1988, officials stated.

According to officials, based upon our investigation to date, Mr. Whiting is the biological father of this unknown woman.

The unidentified woman is believed to be a black female who was estimated to have been born approximately between the years 1953 and 1963, officials say.

Authorities say she was estimated to be 5’2” in height and had given birth at least once in her lifetime.

Anyone who may have information to assist in identifying the person Mr. Whiting had a child with consistent with this time frame or can help in identifying the female is strongly encouraged to contact the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office or Federal Bureau of Investigation.
