Peter Thompson, 51, of Galloway, was charged today with several criminal offenses stemming from multiple inappropriate relationships he had with students while employed as a teacher at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology (ACIT).
According to Atlantic County officials, in early 2022, ACIT officials promptly notified law enforcement that a student disclosed several instances of inappropriate sexual behavior by Thompson.
Subsequently, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit began an investigation that uncovered multiple complaints from other students at the school officials said.
Officials said, as a result of the investigation, Thompson, who is no longer employed by ACIT, was charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child, innapropiate contact and official misconduct.
Thompson was taken into custody in Galloway and transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
