Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Wednesday, February 4, Courtney Griffin, 44, of Atlantic City, was sentenced to a term of three years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to third-degree terroristic threats.

According to Atlantic County officials, on October 22, 2025, a victim reported to the Atlantic City Police Department that Griffin had approached the victim on a sidewalk in Atlantic City, cursed at the victim, and threatened to hit the victim.

Griffin then slammed the victim's phone to the ground, physically restrained the victim, and threatened to strangle the victim, ACPO officials say.

The victim was then forced to walk to the police station rather than calling for help, ACPO authorities said.
