Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Monday, Dante Braxton, 27, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
According to Atlantic County officials, under the terms of his plea agreement, Braxton is expected to be sentenced to an aggregate term of seven and one-half years in New Jersey State Prison with 85% parole ineligibility under the No Early Release Act.

Upon his release from prison, Braxton will be subject to three years of intensive parole supervision, ACPO officials say.
Atlantic County authorities stated that on the evening of November 24, 2022, the Atlantic City Police Department responded to a nightclub at Harrah’s Casino for a report of a large fight.
Upon arriving, police located a male victim who had been stabbed in the elbow and abdomen, ACPO officials stated.
Atlantic County officials said through surveillance video and cellphone videos taken by patrons, police identified Braxton as having stabbed the victim in a lounge inside the nightclub during a large fight.
After stabbing the victim, Braxton followed the victim and threw a metal chair at him outside the casino. Further review of surveillance footage showed that Braxton went through a metal detector before entering the club, ACPO authorities say.
Although the metal detector activated when Braxton went through it, security did not search him or wand his person, according to Atlantic County officials.
During his guilty plea, ACPO officials said, Braxton admitted stabbing the victim with a knife.

Atlantic County officials stated that Braxton also pleaded guilty to unrelated indictments for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute it, obstruction, and contempt of a Drug Offender Restraining Order.
Under the terms of his plea agreement, Braxton is expected to be sentenced to concurrent prison terms, ACPO officials said.
