Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty to Stealing Suitcase from Vehicle

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Tuesday, October 21, Jomar Saez, 30, from Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary in front of the Honorable Joseph Levin, J.S.C., in return for a sentence recommendation from the State of three years in New Jersey State Prison.

Atlantic County officials said that on July 11, Atlantic City Police Department officers were dispatched to the Tropicana casino parking garage in reference to a break-in of an automobile.

Police spoke with the victims, who advised they returned to their vehicle to find there were items missing from the trunk - specifically a zebra-print suitcase containing over $500.00 worth of cosmetics, according to ACPO officials. 

ACPO officials say the suspect was observed on surveillance footage walking away from the area of the vehicle holding the zebra print suitcase.

Police apprehended Saez, who matched the description of the suspect, in the area of South Chelsea and Pacific Avenues, Atlantic County officials stated.

He was still in possession of the zebra-print suitcase., ACPO officials said. Sentencing is scheduled for February 27, 2026.
