Authorities in Atlantic County reported that on Tuesday, August 29, Jai Caesar, 19, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in exchange for a sentence recommendation of five years in New Jersey State Prison with 42 months of parole ineligibility.

According to officials, on August 11, 2022, Atlantic City police responded to a report of a gunshot hitting the window of a residence on North Indiana Avenue in Atlantic City.

Authorities say when law enforcement arrived, they observed a bullet hole had entered through a window of the residence.

Law enforcement reviewed surveillance video from a neighboring residence and was able to identify the subject, as Jai Ceasar officials stated.

Officials said Ceasar was subsequently located by law enforcement, taken into custody without incident, and was released pending a sentence over the State’s objection.

Sentencing will be on October 10, 2023, in front of the Honorable W. Todd Miller, J.S.C.
