The plea recommends a sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison, with a five-year parole ineligibility period, ACPO officials say.

According to Atlantic County officials, on September 12, 2023, Atlantic City Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 700 N. Virginia Avenue for a report of shots fired in the area.

A witness on scene advised police that he did not see where the shots came from, but his vehicle was struck by one of the bullets, ACPO officials said.

Police recovered a projectile from the ground, ACPO officials stated.

Atlantic County authorities say on September 15, 2023, ACPD received a call from the 411-tip line that Hood had a handgun and was operating a black Mazda. ACPD officers located Hood in the Mazda in the area of Family Dollar.

He was in possession of a handgun containing ammunition that matched the projectile recovered from the scene, ACPO officials said.

According to Atlantic County officials, on June 26, 2025, while detained in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Hamilton Township, Hood spat in a corrections officer’s face.
