Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Friday, July 18, Dalvin Chalmers, 39, from Atlantic City, pleaded guilty in front of the Honorable Joseph Levin, J.S.C., to third-degree criminal coercion. The recommended sentence is three years in N.J.S.P.

According to Atlantic County officials, on October 25, 2024, Chalmers approached a male while the male was parking his truck on Richmond and Winchester Avenues in Atlantic City.
Chalmers threatened to assault the male if he did not get out of the truck, ACPO officials say.
Atlantic County officials stated that the male called the police with a description of the suspect. Officers of the Atlantic City Police Department were able to locate the suspect, and the male confirmed that this was the suspect who approached him while parking his truck.
The suspect was identified as Chalmers, ACPO authorities said.
Approximately two weeks later, on November 7, 2024, Chalmers again approached the same male while the male was parking his truck, Atlantic County officials said.
ACPO officials said Chalmers threatened to assault the male and told him, “You better not show up for court”, in reference to the earlier incident.
Police ultimately arrested Chalmers, and he was detained following a detention hearing on November 26, 2024.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 24, according to Atlantic County officials. Judge Levin declined to release Chalmers pending sentencing.
