Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty in Connection with 2016 Expressway Shooting

A 20-year-old Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to weapons and narcotics charges in connection to the August 29, 2016 Expressway Shooting, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

According to authorities, Yashaun Stukes-Williams pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun in connection with the August 29, 2016 Expressway Shooting.

The plea calls for a sentence of 5 years New Jersey State Prison and he must serve 3 ½ years before he is eligible for parole. This case was investigated by the Major Crimes Unit, New Jersey State Police and Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

Officials say on Monday Stukes-Williams also pleaded guilty on a separate indictment to second-degree Distributing Heroin in a Public Zone, third-degree Distributing Heroin for Profit within Atlantic City, and fourth-degree Tampering with Physical Evidence. This case was investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, Atlantic City Police Department and Hamilton Township Police Department.

Police say Stukes-Williams is lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility and sentencing is scheduled for August 31st before Judge Donna Taylor.
