According to Atlantic County officials, on July 3, 2023, Atlantic City Police Department officers responded to the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue in reference to a male stabbed in the neck.

Police transported the victim to the hospital, Atlantic County officials said.

Atlantic County authorities said the victim advised he arrived in the area of Stanley Holmes Village with a friend when he was approached by an unknown man, ultimately identified as Smith.

Smith stated, “Why you keep bringing these white people around here?” before stabbing the victim in the neck, ACPO Officials stated.

ACPO authorities said police were able to identify Smith as the suspect from surveillance footage, which captured the incident, in addition to a wallet containing Smith’s driver’s license left at the scene.

Smith was arrested and charged accordingly shortly thereafter, Atlantic County officials say. The victim survived the attack.
