The Atlantic City Expressway will no longer accept cash toll payments as the highway transitions to a fully cashless system beginning Sunday.
Drivers with E-ZPass will continue to be billed electronically as they travel.
Motorists who don’t have E-ZPass won’t need to stop at toll booths; instead, cameras will capture their license plate, and a bill will be mailed to the address listed on the vehicle’s registration through the Toll-By-Plate system.
Transportation officials say the move is designed to streamline travel and eliminate the need for drivers to stop and pay by hand.
The change marks the end of traditional cash toll collection along the expressway.
