Atlantic City Crash Kills Two After BMW Slams Into Dirt Bike on Route 40

Two South Jersey residents were killed Thursday night after a BMW crashed into the rear of a dirt bike on Route 40 in Atlantic City, authorities said.

According to the Atlantic City Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 9:42 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, in the eastbound lanes of Route 40 near the 1600 block of North Albany Avenue.

 

A preliminary investigation determined that 20-year-old Inzamamul Haque of Atlantic City was driving a BMW M2 eastbound when the vehicle struck the rear of a Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike traveling in the same direction.

 

The impact ejected the dirt bike’s operator, 21-year-old Baseem K. Taliaferro Jr. of Galloway, and his passenger, 21-year-old Yasmeen R. Williams of Egg Harbor City. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
 

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department, with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit.
