The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office reported that a Grand Jury has indicted a 21-year-old Asbury Park man for allegedly threatening a witness who testified during a 2024 murder trial.

Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced that Jaisun Z. Brown has been charged with second-degree Witness Retaliation following an investigation by the MCPO Major Crimes Bureau.
Authorities say Brown’s actions began in April 2025, shortly after the sentencing of a defendant convicted in a 2022 homicide case overseen by Superior Court Judge Jill Grace O’Malley.
Investigators later uncovered multiple communications Brown allegedly directed at, or publicly posted about, the witness, containing threats or statements implying violence.
Prosecutor Santiago emphasized that targeting witnesses undermines the justice system, noting that testifying in violent crime cases requires significant bravery.
He added that the MCPO remains committed to ensuring witnesses can come forward “without fear of retribution or retaliation.”
