Arrest Warrants Issued for Newark Men Wanted for Separate Assault Cases

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Wazir Davis, 24, of Newark, who is wanted for an assault that occurred on Jan. 5th.

According to authorities, at approximately 2:45 a.m., police responded to a Central Ward residence on a call of an assault.

Upon arrival, police learned a man assaulted a woman he knows and her guests’ inside the residence following a quarrel. The suspect then threatened the woman with a knife.

Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to secure a warrant for the arrest of Wazir Davis in connection with this incident.

Police described Davis as 5’8” tall and 130 lbs., with a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair.

In a separate incident, police issued an arrest warrant for Derek Rodriguez, 24, of Newark, for violating a domestic violence order related to an incident that occurred on December 11th, 2018. Police described Rodriguez as 5’9” tall and 170 lbs., with a fair complexion, brown eyes and brown hair.

While police are actively searching for Davis and Rodriguez, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing each suspect from the streets.
