Arrest Made in Pleasantville Homicide

MAYS LANDING – Following a five month-long joint investigation an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of a 21 year-old Pleasantville man in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

An Atlantic City man was arrested Friday for murder in connection to a homicide which occurred on January 1, 2019. Jamie Sewell, 53, was arrested Friday, May 31, in connection to the January murder of Lamir King. King was shot and killed on the 700 block of Ohio Ave., Atlantic City, at approximately 6:25 p.m.

According to officials, the arrest was the result a cooperative five month-long investigation between the Atlantic City Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.

Police say Sewell was arrested without incident by members of the Atlantic City Police Department Violent Crime Unit and Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police say he is lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Sewell’s detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, before Judge Benjamin Podolnick.
