Arrest Made in High-Speed Pursuit of Stolen Car that Began in Passaic County Ending in Newark

Clifton Police were a part of a high-speed pursuit of suspects occupying a stolen car that ended in a crash in Newark Thursday morning. 

Officers began following a vehicle confirmed stolen out of Paramus, with the driver refusing to stop. The pursuit continued the stretch of NJ-21 and into Newark. 

Police say the suspect crashed on McCarter Highway near 3rd Avenue, with both suspects bailing from the car. 

According to preliminary reports, one male was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit, but the other assailant managed to escape capture. 

There were no serious injuries reported.
