Arrest Made in Boonton Homicide Investigation

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Boonton Township Police Department Chief Thomas Cacciabeve have announced the arrest of a suspect in a homicide that occurred in Boonton Township on December 24, 2023.AdAuthorities were called to a residence on Old Denville Road in Boonton Township at around 1:15 p.m. on December 2, following an emergency call.

They found 61-year-old Gregory Meyer deceased. The investigation quickly focused on his son, 33-year-old Kyle Meyer, who also lived at the same address.

Kyle Meyer was apprehended in Paterson at about 9 p.m.

Kyle Meyer faces charges of Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He is currently held at the Morris County Correctional Facility, awaiting a detention hearing.

The Morris County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on the victim.

While the investigation is still active, authorities confirm that they are not seeking additional suspects and assure there is no further danger to the public.
