Police took a man into custody and charged him with possessing an illegal weapon during an incident in Newark on Sunday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, police said they recovered the weapon in the 400 block of Washington Street just before 7 p.m.
Police say the suspect was swiftly apprehended and charged accordingly.
There were no shots fired reported from the incident, which remains under investigation.
