Armed Thieves Sought for Early Morning Newark Carjacking


Police are on the search for two suspects wanted for armed carjacking in Newark's South Ward Saturday. 

The early morning carjacking was reported near 113 Goldsmith Avenue around 3 a.m. 

Police were called to the address to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress. 

When officers arrived,  the victim told them that a male and a female team pointed a gun announced a robbery. 

The suspects reportedly took the victim's white 2009 Jeep with NJ license plate numbers "Z88-NCP". 

Police reported no physical injuries and the suspects remain at large. 

Authorities say this is the second armed carjacking reported in the early morning hours of Saturday and one additional carjacking this afternoon in the Central Ward.
