Police reported no immediate arrests in a foot pursuit of several suspects wanted for possessing a weapon in Newark's South Ward on Tuesday morning.
Police received reports of armed suspects in the vicinity of Hunterdon Street and Lyons Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Officers came across the male suspects, who fled the scene on foot and led cops through the neighborhood.
During the chase, one of the suspects discarded a gun that was located by police in the area of Hunterdon Street and Mapes Avenue.
Authorities believe that the suspects are juveniles who were engaged in armed robberies.
The incident is under investigation.
