Newark Police are searching for a suspect wanted for an armed carjacking that occurred in a section of the city on Saturday.
The early morning incident happened just before 3 a.m in the 200 block of South 6th Street.
Authorities say police were told by the victim that the suspect approached armed with a gun and took their gray Dodge Durango.
Police canvassing the area observed the vehicle operated by a black male who drove at a high rate of speed and did not stop for police.
The suspect remains at large and no injuries were reported.
