Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for an aggravated assault in a section of the city’s downtown Saturday morning.
According to police, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police responded to the vicinity of 43 South Street to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found the victim, who reported that an armed male suspect approached and began to physically attack with a gun, according to police.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe the motive was robbery and the suspect remains at-large.
