Authorities in Newark are investigating a shooting incident that occurred late Saturday night.
Just before 11 p.m., officials at University Hospital notified police when a male gunshot victim entered the emergency room suffering bullet wounds.
Officers arrived at the hospital and were told by the victim that an armed male fired shots at him during an attempted robbery in the area of Treacy and Clinton avenues.
The victim arrived at the hospital by private vehicle and is reported in stable condition.
Police are continuing to investigate the victim's information while they search for the suspect.
