There is an active search for a suspect wanted for a robbery that resulted in shots fired in Jersey City Saturday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that erupted in the vicinity of Hoboken and Central avenues at 3 a.m.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the physically uninjured victim who reported that a male suspect approached with a gun and demanded personal possession.
Police say while the victim attempted to hand over personal possessions, the suspect fired at least one round and shouted obscenities.
According to police, the suspect made off with the victim's cell phone and wallet before fleeing the scene.
Jersey City Police will handle the investigation.
