Police in Newark are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in a section of Newark on Thursday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 9th Street and 15th Avenue after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress at approximately 7:05 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and were told by the victim that two black males approached him in the 400 block of South 12th Streets and committed the robbery at gunpoint.
According to the victim, the suspects ran from the scene immediately after the robbery.
There were no physical injuries reported.
