Newark Police are actively searching for a suspect following the armed robbery of a local laundromat on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred at The Laundry Guys, 139 7th Avenue, around 1:10 p.m.
According to reports from employees at the scene, the suspect, described as a black male wearing gray sweatpants, a sweatshirt, and sunglasses, entered the establishment brandishing a firearm.
He then proceeded to demand and take an unspecified amount of cash from the business before escaping on foot.
Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported among the employees or patrons present during the robbery.
However, the suspect remains at large, and the Newark Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident or the individual's identities to come forward.
