Armed Robbery of Jersey City Chicken Shack Under Investigation

Jersey City authorities are looking into a commercial armed robbery that occurred overnight in the city.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Crown Fried Chicken located in the 2300 block of JFK Boulevard to investigate reports of an armed robbery at gunpoint.

Units arrived at the scene and were told by employees that a black male suspect entered the establishment armed with a silver gun and demanded cash.

The suspect reportedly took nearly $1000 before running from the scene eastbound on Clendenny Avenue.

There were no physical injuries immediately reported.
