Elizabeth Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery that occurred at the US Food Mart gas station located at 845 Summer street about 1:30 AM. A gas attendant and cashier reported they were inside the store when three dark skinned males entered. All three were reported to have been armed with handguns. The suspects, wore gloves and had their faces covered with masks and heads covered with “hoodie” sweatshirts according to the clerks. The suspects took approximately $300.00 and then removed another $300.00 from the cash register. They then fled in a white four door Volkswagen Jetta north on Routes 1 and 9.
