Police in Elizabeth are investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store that happened late last night in the city.
According to a store representative, at around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, a male suspect walked into the convenience store located on the northbound side of Spring Street near the corner of East Grand Street armed with a weapon and demanded cash and other items.
The suspect (only described a Hispanic or white male) then took other items out of the store before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
There has been a rash of armed robberies occurring in the city since the month of August began.
There were no injuries reported.
