Newark Police are investigating a report of an armed carjacking that took place on the city's South Ward Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the incident happened near the intersection of Bergen Street and Renner Avenue at around 3:15 p.m. when several suspects approached the victim armed with guns and demanded the vehicle.
The suspects were occupying a white Jeep Cherokee when they exited and took the victim's red Chevy Camaro, with reported NJ license plate numbers "Y62FMP", then sped away from the scene. reports said.
In one of our reports last night, South Orange Police arrested a male suspect who was occupying a white Jeep Cherokee during a pursuit where the suspect rammed an Orange Police car.
