Armed Men Force Victim to Strip off Clothing in Newark Robbery; Multiple Overnight Robberies Reported

New Jersey

Armed men pointed weapons at a victim in the 20's block of North 6th Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. forcing the victim to remove his pants and shoes then stripped away the victim's wallet, cell phone, and other personal possessions.

Shortly after the victim handed over just about everything he had, the suspect reportedly beat the victim with a weapon.

Police were called to the scene a short time later where they began a search for two black males who were possibly occupying a champagne colored Toyota Tundra pickup with tinted windows that was last seen heading eastbound towards Mount Prospect Ave.

The suspects are also possibly connected to these armed robberies that happened overnight in the city:

At around 1:50 a.m. an armed robbery at gunpoint near Central and West Market Street had the victim losing personal possessions.

Shortly before 4 a.m. in the 100 block of 2nd Street,  a female victim was approached by two black males who were armed with weapons when they ordered personal possessions. The suspects also reportedly took the woman's car keys.  There were no injuries reported.

A violent attempted robbery that took place in the area of Ridge Street and 2nd Ave. had four black males "jump" and strike a victim in the face after the victim pleaded that they had no proceeds to meet the suspects demands.

Please call Newark Police if you come across the suspected vehicle.
